zeb gear 9 or sith marauder gear 13?

ok, yesterday i made a top ten rank in the sith raid. in the rewards there was no full gear piece. ok, bad rng, not funny, but no problem.

what was a little annoying: besides the mod-slicing material i got 15 "salvage-pieces" and i can use only 7 of them. ok. but: from the 8 i cannot use, there are FIVE, from what i got 1000+.

isn't it time to evaluate the reward boxes? or to create a shop, where we can sell such pieces? or change them in the shard shop?

what we really need are mk5 stun gun salvages. they are only available in shippings, in dark side nodes for 10 or 20 energy. and in the fleet node 3D for 20 ship-energy.
of course in the pit. (in the last 2 months i didn't see some...)
in the sith raid (cannot rember i ever got stun guns in the sith raid)
in the new territory battle geonosis. (we will see...)
and in the shard shop, sometimes...
and the guild event store.

to make it short: with my "normal" energy i can try to get kyrotech salvage for my marauder or stun guns for my zeb to bring him to gear 9.

can someone here explain for me, where is the sense of removing them from the ship-nodes?
ok, we can buy them in shippings, but buy gear material to bring a character to gear 9...

  • Removing stun guns and carbantis and stun cufs from ships was easily the the most damaging move they have made to farming. Most people just didn't seem to care. In a few weeks, they will.

  • but to the thread: daily challenges need also an update, they never changed and of course the gear material is important for new player.
    for many other there are only a few interesting salvages and maaaaany useless ones.
    (and of course omegas)

    Heartily agreed. The extra energy is far less useful with the removal of gear crunch mainstays.
  • So, here’s an interesting (to me, at least) idea. If they really are trying to use the ship table to farm G12 pieces, how about replacing the spots where you could farm stun guns with kryotech pieces? That way we wouldn’t have to chose between farming G12 finishers and gearing up the rest of our toons.

    Thats the thing though. They clearly want all of the bottlenecks on the same energy. Finishers, Kyros, Guns, Cuffs, Carbantis now all compete for the same energy and are thus more scarce. I can't believe more people were not up in arms about it. Oh well. They will be feeling it in a few weeks once reserves run out.

    I think the main thing here is that if they hadn't made G12+ stuff more readily available, we'd now be facing two brutal bottlenecks on the way to G13 - this way, it's still pretty much stun guns. And I dunno about everyone else, but until they made this change I had never once used ship energy on a normal node.

    Obviously I would have preferred if they'd left what was on the ship nodes before and just added to it, but I don't think this is actually a terrible compromise. The cost reduction for left side G12+ salvage in shipments and the shard shop has also made a huge difference - paying 180 shard coins for 2 medpac salvage before felt like absolute robbery, whereas 4 feels a lot more palatable.
  • Understood but the only bottleneck for G12 is still Finishers Kyros Guns and Carbanti. They just hid them better.
