Re: Android Device - Google Play - Infinite Loading Screen

Hey @Legedric ,

nice to hear that you want to come back. Let’s try to solve the problem, so that you can start with playing immediately 😉.

First we have to identify the cause of your problem. Therefore I would like to ask you some questions.

First, how is your WiFi? Are you experiencing any connectivity Issues when you are online?

Second, have you considered that this problem is in relation to your Google account and not SWGoH?

Have you tried to download (or connect) any other applications with your Google-Play-Account? If the same problem happens again then you have to contact the Google Play Support .

I once had a similar problem (not with SWGoH, but another Game), therefore I had to contact the Google Play Support. They suggested to clear the cache, what has worked indeed.

I hope that it works soon.

Regards.

  • Thanks for your fast reply!

What I tried so far is:

    - Play SWGOH on a totally different device that never had this game installed before and has a fresh Android system (aka no cache so far) -> Same problem

    - Clear all updates for any Google (Play) related app and reinstall those -> Same problem

    - Clear the cache and data of any Google (Play) related app -> Same problem
    - Reinstall SWGOH multiple times -> Same problem

    - Use another (fresh) Google Account -> No problem as it begins a new game then

I am also not the only one having this particular issue:

  • Problem solved!

What I did was the following:
    1. Deactivate and stop Google Play Services

    2. Reset Google Play Services to factory defaults aka deinstall all updates

    3. Clear cache and data of Google Play Services

    4. Start SWGOH

    5. Connect with Google Play

    6. IGNORE any warnings about the necessity of updating Google Play Services

    7. Tap "besides" the white screen until I got warnings about "Ea.whatever got problems with Google Play Services, try again later"
    8. Dismiss this mesage by tapping into the dark border around this message

    9. I got a new security request from Google Play Services for "Star Wars Capital"

    10. Agree to the necessary rights that SWGOH requires

    11. Play the game 🙂

So it seems to me that somehow Google Play Services has lost track of something regarding rights/security management. At least SWGOH works again with my old account now after I somehow did the above mentioned steps.

    Best regards,
    Legedric
