Once you've used all available attempts (8 for Light Side and Dark Side Hard nodes, and 8 for Fleet Battles Hard) a first refresh of the attempts is currently discounted and only costs 25 Crystals. This should be indicated on the screen below the SIM button, where the refresh timer is shown.

Same thing happened to me. The decreased crystals is not working since yesterday and I did all the available battles. My screen doesn’t look like that, it is still 50 crystals. I restart, force close, restart iPad, did everything since yesterday but it is still not working today.
I am aware that this is what should be happening, but it wasn't happening for me. I was directed here after starting a trouble ticket. The first was closed because I was sent troubleshooting instructions. I opened a second ticket when that didn't work. They were able to look at my activity and see that my refreshes were at the regular gem amount. I was the first person to report the problem, so they said that posting here might help kickstart responses. I've just reopened the game now and it's finally showing the discounted refreshes. I don't know what corrected the problem, as it was there all day today until this moment.

Most likely a corrupted file or a caching issue could potentially have caused the issue.
