My sims 1 release did not launch

I just recently bought this game and it's really frustrating because I can't play it. I am getting this error. 

please fix this or help me so I can play this. I don't want to have to buy a new computer and graphics card just to play this game I paid for. I have an HP lap top with a good graphics card and memory card, I'm able to play sims 3 and 4 on it perfectly fine. so please help me figure this out please.
