Sims - The Legacy Update Problem

Hi, I got on this morning to have a bit of play time and was forced to update, since I have done this, I can't play the game, it just flashes & flashes, if I'm fast, I can close it.

I have uninstalled the game and EA games app, then reinstalled, btw I can play Sims 4 (which I hate) without any graphic issues.

I have searched for someone else with this problem, nothing :(

Any assistance would be appreciated as it appears nigh on impossible to get an answer from EA games themselves.
