Why couldn’t they have released Sims 1 and 2 for Mac users? And are they planning to at all? That’s so unfair :(

Thanks so much for your interest in these games on other platforms. We definitely appreciate our Simmers on macOS and console, and while we can’t comment on future releases, please know we continue to listen to the feedback and share whenever possible.

I agree, it seems like many new games are just windows based is if MacOS doesn't exist. Sure Windows is larger audience, but I am really tired of the lazy devs excluding platforms like it's the early 2000s. 2025 people... Not everyone wants to be on garbage Microsoft virus operating system prone stuff.
MacOS deserves a release, especially the awesome new M chips, these days Apple can do gaming more so than ever before!

The re-release announcement was such an emotional roller-coaster: I went so fast from "Wait what?!" to "This is amazing, let me cancel all my plans and purchase these right now!" to finally "**bleep**... 😭". And here I came, hoping to read something like "don't worry, it's coming" but commenting my disappointment instead 🫠.
I have been playing Sims since it's original release and have been waiting for this so SO SO many years, emailing, posting on forums, even planing to build an old Window XP PC just to play my old games on disc (which I have kept since buying them new)! I currently play Sims 4 on Mac, as do many other Simmers. Especially those of us who have, unsurprisingly, ended up in creative professions. This is a massive oversight to leave out Mac players and I'm gutted. I hope to see it released on Mac very soon.
Me too. I played sims and i would love to get old memories awakened. It was the best gaming time I had back then…make a Mac version please!!!!!! Please!!
I'm glad you are listening to feedback, but hope that you will also issue a sincere public apology for this. I see no apology in this comment. Those of us working in creative fields BECAUSE of our love of the Sims since childhood, often only have Macs. We have all been let down by EA today with this oversight. 24 years of buying all the games. Feels like a slap in the face. We just want to keep giving you our money. I also feel that it is an additional oversight to bundle macOS players with console. macOS players, as I have said, often primarily have macs due to being creative professionals. Console players have a GAMES console. They are not limited by the fact that they have had to buy a specific device for their work. It is different and should be treated as such. Mac users should be prioritised.
This is an interesting insight, thank you. It would be great if EA could be more transparent about any barriers like this. It would help to soften the blow to see real reasons for theses decisions.
