Sims 1 Legacy - Can't click on animals

I'm having an issue where I can't click on animals. Pets, dragons, raccoons--- The paw cursor shows up but when I click it just gives me the "Go Here" prompt. Any fixes for this?

    It can be caused by the Picture in Picture or camera rotation. Using turning the camera left or right can fix that. I get this issue too
