I purchased the birthday bundle and have been unable to play Sims 1 since. Each lot I've tried to play renders the house and everything inside invisible. As I mouse over the area, items will appear but disappear. I've been trying all of the recommended fixes on both the EA Forums and Reddit threads, but I've not seen where anyone else is having this particular issue. Anyone else experiencing this or now how to remedy it?

Bethlovtt Try using Display Driver Uninstaller to uninstall the current driver, then try again to install the new driver while your computer is still offline. Here's how:
If you still can't use the driver, go back online, and Windows should find a somewhat-suitable driver for your device. Let it install, restart your computer, and test the game. If you still see any graphics issues, please post a new dxdiag.

I tried to install what I believed was the most recent graphics driver but the Intel site gave me the error message "something went wrong. Your system has a driver that is locked to manufacturer specifications. Please try downloading the latest driver from the manufacturers website to update. Installer exit code 1"
I tried going through the HP website as well, since I have an HP laptop, but had no success that route either
Any help would be appreciated - I really really want to play the Sims 1 again! Haven't gone back to play it probably since it first came out
mhuck18 In case you weren't using it already, this is the driver you'd need to install; one of those further up the thread wouldn't be compatible with your device.

Hello, thank you so much 😊 so far it's working when I go into a house. The house is still invisible from the neighbourhood (see attached) but I can live with it I suppose if everything else works.
Edit: it seems to have righted itself. See how it goes.

Bethlovtt I wouldn't be surprised if the thumbnails had to update themselves, which you can typically force by changing something about the outside of the lot (the house itself or the landscaping). But the important thing is that the game is working overall.
puzzlezaddictI just bought the birthday legacy bundle the other day and I'm having the same issues as the above users where the houses and items are "invisible" until hovered over. I've changed the compatibility mode, tried to run it in admin mode and no change has happened. The game runs fine so far I've just run into just those graphical issues.
