I have been changing my desktop to 1280x720 before I play. Yes it moves the icons around but they go back where I had them when I revert to 1920x1080. It's way too small otherwise!

My display is not ultra wide, it's not even very large so the native resolution isn't super blurry or small for me. My issue has nothing to do with UI size either. But even if I did change my monitor settings to 1280x720, the window that results is ALSO 1280x720 on the interior... Plus the 32 pixel title bar, which can't leave the desktop space, plus the 10 pixels all around the entire window meaning that I am going to be missing a 42 pixel section of the game at the bottom of my window.
AND it still completely covers my task bar. If it didn't cover the task bar (which I want) I'd be missing an ADDITIONAL 48 pixels, for a grand total of 90 pixels. That's a LOT of lost screen space considering most of The Sims' UI hangs out in the bottom 100 pixels of the screen.
