Sims 1 Legacy won't load past the "Vacation" screen

My game loads just fine until I pick a house from the neighborhood view. Once I click on a household, the popup for the vacation pack comes up but will not load. The background soundtrack also stops ...

I also have that same issue. My Users folder is located on U:\ (not C:\) and there's no Saved Games folder to begin with; it hasn't created one yet. I have set the resolution to 3840x2160 for the 55" screen and Nvidia's drivers are up-to-date. I tried temporarily relocating Program Files\EA Games\The Sims Legacy\UserData folder elsewhere, but to no avail.
