The Sims Legacy Collection crashing after 7 minutes.

I have about six hours of play time in The Sims Legacy Collection on my Windows 10 box (dxdiag info attached) via Steam. I'm on the default neighborhood, in lot "10 Sim Lane" with no improvements to the home besides the indoor amenities. My family consist of 1 man and 1 cat.

For five hours of play, I had no crashes and the game never had a problem booting. It was until after that five hour mark (with the same family), that I began to crash when I would greet Bella Goth (sorry Mort). I thought it was crashing because of the the interaction with the neighbor, but more and more unexpected crashes with no clear consistent trigger was evident.  The crashes happen as fast as less than a minute into loading into my family and will go as long as 7 minutes before crashing.

I've monitored the process via ProcMon and didn't find anything consistent to point to for the crashes as well. I've re-downloaded the game after each crash following each new patch, uninstalled/reinstalled GPU drivers and even attempted a seance to reason with the software ghoul.

I hope to help in the efforts to get what is a great game, back up and running in the modern time.

Thanks

I'm having almost bar for bar the same issue. About six hours of gametime in with a house with only my sim and two pets, randomly starts crashing after a few minutes every time i play now. Drivers up to date and game files verified.

    Hi IceManxMan,

I followed the instructions (booting in Safe Mode) to use DDU. Uninstalled my GPU/Audio drivers and reinstalled them. After less than a minute into playing, my game crashed like previous times. No error codes or any other info regarding the closing was given.

I appreciate the advice, but unfortunately it did not fix the issue. If I have time this weekend, I would like to run ProcMon during a crash and see what the last calls are before the program croaks. As I said before, I thought I might have the "Neighbor on lot" crash that is listed as a known unfixed bug, but the tasks I did (granted when a Maid was present) Serve Lunch, eat, clean up two plates and went to bed, triggered a crash.

There has to be some common underlining trigger that crashes the game...and I have a lifetime to find it.

Yeah, I honestly thought the 2nd patch that fixed a memory leak, was going to be my savior. I've been trying to find any consistency from ProcMon results when my game crashes, but so far there isn't any rhyme or reason when it crashes...

I appreciate you responding, I get the sense that maybe the save file size may be a culprit...or a red herring.
