How do I know if aging is on or off in other households than the one I am playing currently? I recall that I had to switch some setting back in the days playing The Sims 2. Now I can't find that kind...

In Sims 2, households only age while you are playing them. The one exception is that sometimes a box will pop up with a list of townies your Sim knows that are the same age as them, asking if you'd like to age them up too. There are no settings to change. Did you ever play with mods or hacks in the past? There are some related to aging.
Oh yeah that's right, thank you! I think I misrecalled it, it was when I first started playing Sims 4 when I had to change the aging settings.
