Always have to reset sims 2 legacy folder

Everytime I install cc or mods I have to reset me doc/sims 2 leagacy folder or the game won't start. After I reset and drag my files back in, the game will start. Anyone else having to do this? It is really anoying and should not have to do this. I do delete the the thumbnails but I have to reset the whole folder.

How do you reset it, please? My game simply wont open and i'm trying to find solutions.

Find your folder probably in like Documents\EA Games From there move your leagacy file to your desktop and then restart the game. The game will make a new leagacy folder. Then exit game. Then you can move your files back in.
