C++ error

I started out having an error on install attempts saying c++ needed to be installed but then the installer would error out and progress stopped. So I followed all the guides and uninstalled all my old c++ files and reinstalled only the newest ones for my machine. All that happened was the error changed from oh no install this c++ to oh you have the newest version of C++ no need to install and then the game stopped installing still. 
I contacted help and they said "known bug" we are working on it, but wouldn't give me a time frame. It feels like I just spent 40 bucks for a non working game that -may- work sometime in the future.
