Can't change resolution in Sims 2 Legacy

Apparently this was a problem on the original version as well, but I can't figure out a work around. Resolution settings are greyed out and permanently set to 1920x1200. My screen does have a very high resolution to start with, but I can't see the control panel when the resolution is too high. I really hope this is fixed soon, but in the meantime, is anyone sure if setting my screen to a lower resolution out of game will at least temporarily fix this? Any input is appreciated.

  • Adding on here that I tried changing my screen resolution, using alt+enter, and changing steam settings, but nothing gives. The print is still too small.

  • Folks! I found the workaround! It was hidden in the patch notes:

    1) Press ctrl+shift+c to open the cheat input bar

    2) Type in "uintProp uiScaleFactor" followed by a space and then the number 1, 2, or 3.

The game defaults at 2. 1 is the highest resolution, and 3 is a 1280x800 resolution. You can also make the game open this "persistantly" by going to the “Graphics Rules.sgr” file. The pathing they suggest if you downloaded from EA proper is “The Sims 2 Legacy Collection\EP9\TSData\Res\Config" and they mention as a note in the note that the file location may change depending on which storefront you purchased the game from.
