Ctrl + Shift + C no longer working since most recent patch update

I've verified that Ctril+Shift+C still works to bring up the cheat/command console in Sims 3 and 4, but since yesterday's bug fix it no longer works in the Sims 2 - I'm using Steam if that is relevant.

What is going on? Bring this back please. It's always been there, yes I use Motherlode - for my brain it makes the game fun.  

Yes I'm also having the edge scrolling issues, which are also rendering my game unplayable.
