You add a “Downloads” folder in yourself, it’s not automatically generated. Go to Documents>EA Games>The Sims 2 Legacy and load it up to find your folders, create a “Downloads” folder there and add in your mods.
They aren't the sims 4 ones like folders for tray files ect in the sims 2 folder. I don't seem to have those ones?
You don't need a tray folder. This is what it should look like for Legacy with a downloads folder, that's all you need to install Custom Content
That was an example. But the screen grab you posted,I don't seem to have that in my documents,programme folder or in the origins game folder.
I am currently trying to fix a problem to install DLC and just discovered something that might help you. I found files like on the screenshot above when i go to Base > TSData > Res in my sims 2 folder.
