Just got a new laptop and getting this error when trying to load into a household. What do I need to download/install to fix this?
I've tried searching around and using Google, but a lot of suggestions were from 2016.

I think I fixed it. I had to go into Windows graphic settings and chose to run the game with the higher graphics card.

Same. My game worked just fine 2 weeks ago and then, when i load into a lot, it loads normal for 5 seconds and then BOOM...... d3derr_invalidcall!
I read on reddit if you try to turn off shadows in the game while on a community lot or unowned residential lot and then load into a occupied lot then it worked!

JeolinThanks for the idea: it worked! I was at my wit's end with this game crashing and I went crazy for weeks going through the game files.
Here is what worked. I loaded Sims 2 and opened my neighborhood. Then loaded Create a Sim. Then I opened Graphics Settings and then set Shadows to "off". The game runs fine now!

Okey, to those who turning off the shadows didn't work...
Hear me out, I am not dumb, but I have ADHD... soooo.... : You need to press "apply changes" after turning off the shadows...

can confirm, I have changed my graphic settings to high and turned off shadows and it's actually loaded a household.
