Do you let 'Wants' & 'Fears' dictate your gameplay?

It depends of the aspiration of the Sims. Some are too easy/repetitive so you don't bother to have them in gold (friends/romantic). But sometimes I want to change the life want I don't like it but then the aspiration associated make it more difficult to go in gold. That's when I keep more interest in accomplishing the wants so I can use the reward item to change the aspiration.
