DxTory not working for Sims 2? (Windows 10)

Question

DxTory is a free(ish) screenshotting program that I've used for GTA IV, and I would rather like to use it in place of the dodgy one bundled in with the Sims 2. However, whenever I launch TS2 with DxTory in the background, the game hangs, and refuses to play. From memory (and with evidence), the game has only worked with DxTory once, and it is slightly putting me off playing TS2 again because I can't make any artsy screenshots.

Is there any way I can fix this? Or is there any Windows 10 alternative?

Never heard of DxTory before so can't help you there. You could use Fraps instead, or Steam - I do so - or if you have NVIDIA GeForce Experience you could use that to take screenshots as well. :)

I have never heard of DxTory myself. I agree with Nindl, I use Fraps to take in game pictures. They come out nice, and are in their own folder outside the game, and it is free.  :)
