I’ve bought the re-release of the Sims 2 and it doesn’t work

I’ve got windows 11 and bought The Sims 2 re-release on the ea app and it won’t work. When I press play an error message comes up saying I don’t have Directx 9 graphics drive. I have a gaming laptop so I’m very frustrated that the Sims 2 won’t work when it was advertised to work on all modern pcs.
