Is the Sims 2 still available?

I actually found out that a lot of interesting features were in the Sims 2, and I really would like to check it out, as it looks awesome from the videos I have seen. But I'm not sure if it's still available. It's not on Origin anymore, at least. If it is available somewhere, could someone please tell me? Also, will it work on my computer?

  • I have a MacBook and Sims 2 Super Collection is on the app store, very fun even though it's missing apartment life
  • You can obtain a legal copy of it, if you already own one of the Sims 2 games; you can contact EA customer support and give them the code and they'll send you a copy of Sims 2 Ultimate Edition on your origin account.

However, if you don't own a Sims 2 game, DO NOT USE A CODE OFF THE INTERNET.
You can just buy a used copy of the Sims 2, I recommend getting Sims 2 Double Deluxe

EA ought to make TS1 and TS2 readily available through origin. TS2 is a legendary game. I haven't tried TS1 yet, but want to.

Also I had a compatibility issue with TS2 on my new laptop. When I launch the game, it says something about Directx incompatibility and the game will close. I found a trick to make the game open in a window (and it works), but I would really like to run it full screen. I tried installing directx but that is no good. Any advice?

I vaguely remember going through something like this in the past. It's not like I'm trying to run TS4 on a computer built in 1990. :/

Just a couple posts above you will give you the answers. :)

Later packs of TS2 were sold on Origin so there was a reason to bundle once discontinued. TS1 wasn't and is even less compatible with newer graphic/computers and TS2.
Plus, TS3 is still available on Origin- some for sale and from previous purchases.
  • I still have all of the discs and codes. I installed all of the Sims 2 discs on my pc about a year ago I had the best time playing the Sims 2 again. I had a male sim that I made befriend then fall in love with Bella. I kept her young so she has gone through a lot of hubbies and has had a lot of kids! LOL That computer was struck by lightening. I have another one now, so I will probably reinstall of these discs again because I miss playing part 2.
