Keyboard typing still not working Patch 7

I can't even minimize the game. Nothing minimizes it. Pressing the windows key brings up the toolbar, and I apparently open other apps, but I never see the app windows or see my desktop. The Sims 2 stays fullscreen and running.

Thanks for flagging this one. We have a couple of questions that should help us identify where the issue is.

• Does this issue persist if you Alt+Tab away, then Alt+Tab back into The Sims 2? 
  
  
• Do you see the insertion pointer (the blinking vertical line) in the text box you're trying to use?
  
  
• Can you verify that yesterday's update fully installed?
  • Ctrl-Click on Sims2EP9.exe -> Properties -> Details. “File Version” should say 1.10.7.0
    
    
• Finally, is this problem happening 100% of the time or is it intermittent?
  
  

If anyone is experiencing this as well, could you provide us with a DxDiag please so we can get this looked into? 

Yeah, I'm on 1.10.7.0
The problem stops once I alt enter then click outside the box then refocus on the game and alt enter back to Fullscreen then the keyboard works again. Not sure if it helps but I'm in Australia and I use the US keyboard layout option. This problem doesn't start again till I reboot my pc. I can fix it at first start up and each time I start the game it won't do that issue until I reboot or shutdown the pc, cause if not when I go to type in the boxes windows 11 makes that oopsie sound when typing. hope that helps!

Mine also is not working unless I repair the game each time before playing.  Interestingly, when I updated with the latest patch and played, it worked but not since then.  There's still the hesitation in the loading screen when the error happens.  Once I do a game repair, there's no longer a hesitation.  The game instantly loaded. 

Interesting, does pressing the ESC or ENTER/RETURN key resolve the issue when it occurs?
