My Discs
So can I still play my game with my discs because I don't want the issues you all are having with the downloads?
The simple answer is no. Sims 2 was abandonware until Legacy came out. There's no support, no patches, programs conflict because of its age, etc.
But, the complicated answer is maybe. There's a lot involved in that maybe and no one here on the forums is going to be able to help you. However, if you google Sims 2 disks discussions on Reddit, there are some that may be able to help you.
Personally, I think it was worth shelling out the money for Legacy even though I have Ultimate Collection simply because it's supported. Not everyone IS having issues with it. I had some in the beginning, but I'm not having any now.
What do you mean by it's supported? Do you mean because it just exists or is it because EA services the game? I think only Legacy Collection is the only version of Sims 2 right now that is being serviced/supported
That's basically exactly what I mean. The Sims 2 servers that the disks and original downloadable versions used don't exist anymore and EA doesn't offer any kind of support if they don't work, or the patches that they originally released for them. For Legacy, they are actively taking bug reports and releasing patches.
But, as I said, I did find a Reddit thread about using the disks that may help you.
