Re: The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection on EA App Desktop

@ARP1922 The Sims 2 has had a rocky start on EA App. Although it shows up as The Sims 2 Double Deluxe, it should still, technically, be Ultimate Collection. I have previously installed Ultimate Collection from Origin and it matched (for the lack of a better word), or I should say "recognized" The Sims 2 (Double Deluxe) in EA App.

Now here is when issues start. To test things out, I had uninstalled Ultimate Collection in order to download it directly through EA App. It always threw an error. When I reinstalled through Origin, it matched to TS2 in EA app again.

I would like to ask that you try to download The Sims 2 through EA App (you don't need to finish the download, just attempt to start it) and let me know what happens. Does it give you a download link to The Sims 2 Store Edition (as a ZIP file), or does it actually download Ultimate Collection inside EA App? Also, does it list your game's product code or say No Code Required?

I am asking this as at least one other player I had talked to somehow got Store Edition instead of Ultimate Collection, so I am thinking that this might be the problem as to why some players can't download it. For comparison, I do not own Store Edition on Origin, which is (I suspect) why I get the download error.

I tried to download TS2 Double Deluxe version in EA app just to see what happens and it has thrown me an error message, no matter how many times I try.

And no, I don´t have any version of TS2 installed in my current PC, so I don´t think is a compatibility problem. Any ideas?

Anyway, both versions of TS2 (Ultimate Collection and Store Edition) stills appear in my Origin account.

I attach you a picture with the error message. It says:

"An error has ocurred during the download. Give us some minutes and try again"

Buttons says: "Try again / Close"

Ok, so I tried something in order to transfer TS2 Ultimate Collection to EA app. I looked for the code, wich you can see in "Game properties" in Origin. As you can see, TS2 Ultimate Collection has a code (as seen in "Origin 1.png").

TS2 Store Edition has NOT a code and just simply say: NO CODE REQUIRED (as seen in "Origin 2.png)

When I tried to redeem the code for TS2 Ultimate Collection in the EA app, it looks like the app recognize the game, and is ready to add it to your collection (as seen in "EA 1.png").

But, when I tried to use the code to add it to my collection, an error appeared saying the code is already redeemed.

So, what´s the deal here? Any ideas?

So all I can do right now is wait for EA to fix the issue, right?

Hope they fix it before Origin shuts down...

Sorry for just jumping into the thread earlier without much information. I was on mobile and didn't read as carefully as I should have, and I'm sorry for the trouble. If this info helps with anything at all, when I did download it, DD installs as Ultimate Collection and has the correct install path and files, and I could launch the game fine after. I took some screen shots. Thank you @mate54 for your first reply in the thread, it was your answer that made me try it and see that it does work for me on my end at least.

Oh, I´m gonna try that to see if it´s fixed in my account too.

By the way, in your screenshot I can only see some packs of TS2. Are some of them missing or there are more folders that we don´t see in the picture?

@ARP1922 Ultimate Collection contains every Expansion and Stuff Pack released for The Sims 2, either in Collection folders or their own folders:

I didn't remember the folders content since I didn't play TS2 UC some years ago.

Anyway, is not fixed in my case. Stills showing the same error message 😔

@EA_Cade Hi, some players, such as @MsBarbaraManatee, have been able to download The Sims 2 from EA App. I have also been able to download Sims 2 Spinoff titles (The Sims Life Stories, The Sims Pet Stories and The Sims Castaway Stories) from my account using EA App, even though they are 32-bit apps.

If possible, please let whoever is working on this know that The Sims 2 only has an error when downloading. Once installed, EA App recognizes it and is able to launch it. Some players also got The Sims 2 Store Edition when they were trying to download The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection.

I have another question, as this is something I have noticed with my library. Do you have any information on whether The Sims 3 Create a Sim and The Sims 3 Pets Create a Pet Demo will be moved over to EA App? I own them on Origin but they still haven't shown up in EA App, while TS4 Create a Sim Demo has.

I´m finally capable of downloading The Sims 2 from the EA app and I´ll let you all know if I can play, but I think this is going to work¡¡

Edit: Ok, this is...weird. It says that, in order to install The Sims 2 Store Edition, I need to have The Sims 2. Every "-.exe" that I have, leads to this.

Any ideas?
