The EA App is experiencing many issues not only with Sims, but with other games as well. EA is aware of all of the issues and at this point, I would post in the EA App section of the forums as I'm afraid either myself or Mate54 are unable to assist at this time since this issue is on EA's end.
If you are trying to install the game from disk or from Origin, we'll be happy to help here.
Hi, this is late but I'm also worried that I won't be able to play the sims 2 ultimate collection after transferring to EA App (I haven't yet because of this issue). I got the sims 2 ultimate collection for free so I don't have any codes or anything to redeem it. Is there a way I can fully download the game to my computer so I don't have to rely on origin or the EA App? I don't wan to lose my favorite game.
@Yummy48 I had UC on Origin. I now play it on the ea app however I did leave Origin installed.
On the app for some strange reason it's called the deluxe edition but in the properties is shows as the ultimate collection.
It's a wait and see what happens when they remove Origin. I'm trusting it will just stay on the app as installed.
I do have The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection in Origin and the Deluxe Edition in the EA app, but when I try to install it from the EA app, I end with a download with multiple files that have the name of the Sims 2 expansions and stuff packs.
Everything correct until that point. The issue comes when I try to install those files but it keeps telling me that I need The Sims 2 in order to install the Deluxe Edition (Ultimate Collection in reality), so I don´t know what to do or if I´m missing something or doing something wrong.
Any ideas?
@Bluegayle The Double Deluxe thing is just a matter of a logo, the game should still be Ultimate Collection. Now, whether EA App will have issues download it, that's a whole different story. As for playing offline, it is possible, although you need to be logged in to either Origin or EA App to verify ownership of the game.
@Yummy48 You can back up installation files for later reinstalls, although you will have to be logged in to Origin or EA App to launch the game.
@ARP1922 Can you please post some screenshots of which files you get, and what error messages you're receiving?
@ARP1922 Just like some other players who've posted about Sims 2 issues, you're getting The Sims 2 Store Edition (Sims2SC) instead of Ultimate Collection for some reason. Did you have Store Edition on Origin before switching to EA App?
Regardless, Store Edition is an outdated and unsupported (now also useless) pack for The Sims 2 that was used during The Sims 2 Store days. Nowadays there is no need to have it installed. Right now we can only wait to see if there will be a fix.
So, if we install the game via Origin....It gets fixed in the EA app?

I´ve just downloaded the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection via Origin and it seems that is installed.
Gonna try it now a bit and I´ll tell you if it works
By the way, when we´ll uninstall Origin, would the "Origin games" file disappear?
I only have The Sims 4 and The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection there, but I was just guessing.
The Sims 3 and The Sims 3 Pets (wich I bought in a bundle some years ago) appeared in both platforms, but in the EA app I cannot see the special reward that came with the bundle (it was a pet shop with exclusive items)
Did I lost it in the EA app?
@Bluegayle Ok, so I tried to play with The Sims 2.
It worked perfectly to a point, but after that it gave me an error message and closed.
I don´t know where is the problem but I guess is unplayable in Windows 10 ☹️

About the compatibility mode, wich one should I use? Windows 7?

Just a heads up that i uninstalled Origin (trying to fix sims3) and I lost my Sims2 UC.
I reinstalled Origin but am not going to open it as it will go through the whole verifying thing again which is another pain in the neck.
Though Sims2 DD shows up of course on my app I am just going to leave it for now. The download button works but is actually attempting to dl/install the DD only.
Just get a separate file to download.
Something has happened with Sims3 so hopefully 2UC will be next. Fingers crossed.
@Bluegayle so you´ve installed Origin and The Sims 2 UC wasn´t there anymore?? That´s odd.
Contact EA for assistance, because if The Sims 2 UC was in your library, it should remain there as you claimed it at some point in the past.
Does The Sims 2 DD appear in your EA app library? Because that was what happened to me. I have The Sims 2 UC in Origin and the in the EA app it shows as The Sims 2 DD (Double Deluxe).
That's so unfortunate. I really hope they fix this soon. I'm getting anxious that we haven't received any word from EA at all. Hopefully we'll know soon.
