Hi! My Sims 2 no longer works! It stopped in October 2025! I just wanted to know if I bought the one with the bonus content, if it would work again! Has anyone bought the newer Sims 2 game?! I had the old one! Before the bonus stuff! I deleted Sims 2 off both computers now! Any info would be nice! Thank you!
AngelHarleyCosmo What version do you have, and what version are you asking about? I could try to guess from your post, but it's not totally clear and I'd rather know for sure.
Please also let me know how the game isn't working at the moment, as in, what happens when you try to play. If you get an error message, please post a screenshot.
From what it sounds like, you're probably talking about The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection? I bought The Sims Bundle with 1 & 2 and The Sims 2 works perfectly fine. It's supposed to be better optimized to run on newer computers and I can say that I didn't need as many mods or fixes for it to run.
I assume you mean Legacy? Ultimate Collection has never been for sale. It was free for people who owned the game already initially, then free for everyone briefly. But that was way back in 2014.
I've had Legacy since they released it. Ikea Pack is missing because they couldn't/didn't renew the license, but you can find information about how to put it back in if you have a copy of it. I was able to pull it from Ultimate Collection and put it in. It has all of the other EPs and SPs. What it does not have is the Store Edition content. The Sims 2 store was small and it wouldn't have been unreasonable to include it, in my opinion. Luckily, I backed up all my files, as did a lot of other Simmers, so there's that.
Some players are still reporting problems, but my game is running smoothly with no issues and it was worth it to me to buy it again.
