Re: The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection Uninstalled Itself

@neoromanempire I have seen this happen in cases where there is a registry cleanup program (such as CCleaner, for example) on the system. TS2 (or Ultimate Collection, specifically) has registry entries pointing to non-existent executables to ensure the game recognizes all packs. Normally, this is not an issue, but cleanup programs see a registry entry that points to nothing and delete it, effectively "uninstalling" the game. Is it possible that the same happened on your system?

Oh wow hilariously this happened again to me today, this time however it just uninstalled the actual program launcher and not the icon or the actual install on the :C drive or my data in documents, which was never uninstalled. This time it immediately "reinstalled" thankfully. And as expected, I was again required to quickly redo some of the fixes from those videos. Frustrated this happened again, I checked this post I made to see if anyone had responded and I saw your post and realized that I had run CCleaner like twenty minutes before starting The Sims 2, while playing another game. I just ran CCleaner again and checked what it was uninstalling before allowing it to remove it. It didnt seem to be uninstalling the Sims 2 Launcher or Icon again so I allowed it to remove and The Sims 2 launcher was not uninstalled again. But either way it seems like CCleaner was definitely the culprit and I'll definitely be very careful to check what it's attempting to uninstall everytime I use it from now on. Thank you. I finally feel like my Sims 2 is secure again and not liable to be taken from me at random.

Actually it ended up happening again and then I checked if my anti-virus was the problem and sure enough, my anti virus had "quarantined" The Sims 2 several times. I was able to un-quarantine, provide an exception for the app to prevent it from happening again and restore the ORIGINAL sims 2 application. I couldn't be happier. My originally installed Sims 2 is back seemingly for good. Thanks for your help.
