If your game isn't launching at all after installing the 4GB patch, you probably need to delete your Cache Files. This is a common problem, but it isn't broken and is an easy fix. Just delete the files called "Accessory.cache" and "Groups.cache" in your Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection folder.

And make sure you check your Config log to see if the patch actually installed properly. If it didn't, try installing on the Desktop instead (instructions in link above). Good luck!
