I've been using the Sims2Pack Clean Installer (by Mootilda on MTS) to install lots! They really should include the package installer but this is a workaround for now, if you're interested.

I've been using that program since UC was released, it's a good program. They also have a standalone version of bodyshop on MTS, though I haven't tried it myself.

I do agree that these things should have been part of Legacy.
