Is there anything I can do about ghosts and tombstones that's safe for my game?
So I did it, I managed to extract one of my original sim couple, from the relationship, with great difficulty, after another Sim I had an interest in, met him by chance in a public place downtown, and there was nothing wrong with that original Sim. Apparently it was only his husband who can't talk or interact with not only him, but with anyone. But I couldn't divorce them because they had no interactions available. So I had to go guerilla and kill off the corrupted sim. Horrible, but I managed, even though he could somehow glitch through the walls around the swimming pool so that didn't work...locking him out o fthe house in winter did the job. Not pleasant but necessary. So I have a new couple and all is well in the manse, except the ghost of the corrupted sim husband keeps coming around, and no one can interact with him but he still breaks things. I've heard it will corrupt my game to delete the tombstone, but is there any way I can send this ghost to the great beyond? Unfortunately due to a cow plant, there are now two more tombstones on this lot and their ghosts, as well. realizing this was just going to keep compounding, I deleted the cow plant but am afraid to delete the tombstones. What do you do about ghosts in general, and especially about a ghost you can't interact with at all? Is there anything I can do other than move off the lot?369Views1like6CommentsPlayed the Sims 2 for the first time, shocked at how hard it is
I played TS3 during it’s time, but I cheated every aspect of the game so I’m not comparing difficulty. I’ve played TS4 since release, and I use mods to make it more difficult, though I still think it’s too easy. I started playing the TS2 for the first time this week, and I cannot believe how difficult it is. I’m having more fun than I’ve had in a long time with TS4, but I can only play for an hour or two before I quit in frustration.1.8KViews1like55CommentsWho else misses the randomness and challenge of the sims 2?
The sims 4 has gotten better over the years, but one thing I really miss is the randomness and challenge from the sims 2. I don’t like to purposely kill my sims, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want my sims to ever die or face hardship. Without challenges or randomness it makes sims lives more boring and predictable. Here are several random things I miss 1. Fires were deadly if you got caught in them (couldn’t extinguishe self) 2. Cow plants would kill sims in one try. 3. Sims who were electrocuted would die if needs were low. 4. Certain interactions like printing money on the moneymaker could either cause your sim to get a fine or burst into flames the longer you used it. (Using aspiration objects also cause negative outcomes if sims aspiration was in the red) 5. Chance cards were more meaningful and could give great rewards but also lead to skill losses, fines, demotions, and even getting fired 6. Sims hit by lightning would die if needs were low. And here are the challenges that I miss from the sims 2 1. Aspiration levels which show how well sim is doing and living life. (If it gets low sims would get upset, worry, and eventually act a little crazy) 2. Sims had fears that would lower aspiration level so you sometimes had to put off doing certain things 3. Sims had interests so when you talked relationships didn’t always go up 4. Sims were more likely to reject certain friendly or romantic interactions when friendship was low so there was a chance to fail interactions and loose relationship 5. Sims could get furious with others and would temporarily have a decreased relationship causing more mean interactions between the two sims. 6. Sims who didn’t like each other got into fights more often 7. Sims had a mood bar and would refuse to do certain skilling tasks if it got too low. 8. Sims could through bad parties if they didn’t attend to their guests. 9. Sims could have bad dates if the date meter went down and the time ran out 10. Various other things While I understand the sims 4 is a different game and enjoy playing it. I still miss these things and that is why I still play the sims 2 for longer amounts of time.909Views1like50CommentsTS2 as a TS4 player
I've been playing TS4 on-and-off for about 4 years now and is completely aware of the environment in the community, most especially the boxing ring surrounding TS2, 3, and 4. Lately I've been wanting to play TS2 after remembering that I had a lot of fun playing it for like a few days when I was little. Although, I have completely forgotten how the game feels. As objectively as possible, do you think that TS2 is better than TS4 and is worth playing in 2020? Or is it really just the nostalgia? Should I continue devoting my time to TS4 or should I try to get back to playing TS2? I can't decide really. What do you think? Please don't take this like some shallow "ts2 g0od, tS4 bAd" discussion (or the other way around). I want to hear your opinions about this also to help myself decide. I know that I can just get TS2 and try it myself right now but eh, i don't really want to waste my time especially that i have ocd. PS. I own all the TS4 packs and I'm a gameplay-focused player.1.1KViews1like60CommentsTs4 destroyed my ability to enjoy ts2
I wonder if this happens to anyone else. I launched TS2 today (mac super collection) played for a short while and got frustrated and closed it. Going to a community lot Down town is a drag, pick up the phone wait for the taxi then two loading screens. When you come back the time is all messed up. Getting a job promotion requires keeping up with friendships ... it is rather illogical and irritating ! And CAS omg without CC there are like 5 clothes for kids lol. Building and placing items is rage inducing. Yea ts4 has a lot of problem but it has made some significant improvements too. It makes gameplay very streamlined (sometimes way too much though) CAS and BB items are amazing. Building is super fun. We just need some long term gameplay like harder aspirations (This is where ts2 shines) and Ts3 real estates system to spend your money. Hopefully the sims team is listening to us and make ts4 an amazing game it is meant to be.5KViews1like198CommentsDo you miss the The Sims 2 site?
I do since I used to get all the custom content when I was younger from there. Like the "crazy-ish" type stuff I would use a lot and got them from the exchange. :/ Memories... Lol. I know the game is considered "old" I guess since it's not being sold at stores anymore and all that but, don't you think they should bring it back for the simmers that still use Sims 2?1.9KViews1like37Comments
