Is Sims 2 worth to buy, or is it still buggy?
Hi! I have been wondering about buying the Sims 2, the version which was re-released on windows 10/11 some time ago. I remember hearing about it being so bug-filled, that it was almost unplayable and dissappearing in EA Play or something like that. I vaguely remember seeing lots of people talk about it in Tiktok etc. and people being pretty upset about it. Am I tripping or remembering correctly? If I am being right, has the situation gotten any better? If not, what are the bugs you have encountered or bugs that are common with other people you might have heard. I just want to know the situation more clearly, before spending any money. Thanks!
The Sims 2 crash - Bad return code : D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
Hi there, I just installed the sims 2 from steam recently. The installation went fine but everytime I played, the games always crashed. I'm not sure how to fix this but I did receive the below error message. Please let me know if anyone has experience with this. Hello everyone please can someone help me my Sims 2 legacy collection isn't working and won't respond the game opens and loads past the cinematic video then it starts to load the bar and stops halfway and tells me to close the game or wait for it to respond I don't understand because it was working fine a few weeks ago but I loaded my game up today to play it as I haven't played it in a few weeks now it's not responding some and advice please I have a lot of families and other stuff I don't want to loose them thank you in advance
EA Sims 1 & 2 own CC and MOD pages.. do they still exist?
ive been trying to find EA's (maxis) own Custom Content and Mod Pages.. do they still exist?? if not does someone know if they were uploaded elsewhere? That way i can get them to use... and since even though i have all Sims 1 on CD's and Most of Sims 2 CD's (except Uni) from original release including Codes I bought the legacy for Steam since its been so long i doubt the full sets will even work on Win 11. Anyway Since I have legacy now for both games, in what folders would i put Mods and CC in now??Instead of focusing on the Sims 4, they should focus on the bugs for Sims 2
Honestly although I haven't played the Sims 2, I've always wanted to buy it, but I heard that there are still too many bugs even with the patches, with the last patch on April by players through Steam or from this forum I see. My hope is that the team stops focusing on 4, and focus more on fixing the bugs for the Sims 2 instead (1 and 3 if applicable) Anyone else agree
Sims 2 Legacy Collection Neighborhoods
I bought the Sims 2 Legacy Collection from the EA app as part of the 25 year anniversary re-release. I had never played Sims 2 prior to 2025 and from what I have heard, this collection is supposed to have all EPs, and SPs except the Ikea Pack and all neighborhoods. When I launch it only has 6 neighborhoods to choose from. How do I know if all the packs are actually included? Even the Sims 2 folder only has 6 neighborhoods...E001, F001, G001, N001, N002 and N003. I don't even know which neighborhood is which, but am I supposed to have more than this? Please help.
Blurry / Resolution Issues on Sims 2 Legacy
So, I just bought TS2 today here on Steam hoping to get a better, patched version of my favorite game. But after using it for a bit, it seems it's still unpolished and not what I expected.... I keep running into an issue, the internal resolution appears to be stuck at (what it looks in my eyes) to be 1536x864 (according to my screenshots resolution) even when I select 1080p in the menu. I've tried Windowed Mode, tinkering with the Graphic Rules and trying to force a larger resolution but to no avail. It's really bothering me, the UI is very blurry and the whole game runs at a terrible resolution! I found that this had been "fixed" in February: "The game sometimes launched at a small resolution (800x600) and then scaled that small format to fill the entire monitor" but it's still happening on my end. Changing resolutions doesn't do anything! Please help.Can't add sims 2 to Ea app says redeem code is invalid
I have the original sims 2 with the disc but don't have a disk drive on my laptop I've tried redeeming the game but it keeps saying invalid code for some reason ,can this possibly be fixed if I still have the serial code and everything? Can I add it ? Really would just want to get it added on some how but don't know how to do it I submitted something before but I don't know how things process contacted ea before ,don't know if I will get a reply or not. If anyone knows any advice on this would appreciate it alot Really don't want to buy sims 2 again when I still have it on disc Thanks
