AMD CPU/GPU stuttering/lag/FPS drops in TS 2 LC? 7800X3D - RX 9070 XT
Pc specs: CPU 7800x3d - GPU RX 9070 XT - 32 GB RAM. Does anyone here using AMD CPUs/GPUs have problems with stuttering/lag/FPS drops especially when multiple sims are on screen and especially on community lots? I tried with AMD Adrenalin software but it doesn't give me any good results. I already played the game multiple hours and I want to give up. Please, EA, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!! I checked Reddit and I'm not the only one. I paid full price for this game!!!90Views1like3CommentsLegacy Collections on GOG
Hey y'all! Any change we could get to see both The Sims and The Sims 2 Legacy Collections be released on GOG as well? I've already bought it through Steam but would love to keep my Maxis collection growing on GOG as well! (Also the MySims re-release would be a great one to get through GOG!)60Views1like1CommentWater Tool is so fast!
I'm attempting to use the Water Tool to make a small pond is the back yard, but on medium with one click, it goes down deep so fast and looks bad. I can't smooth it out or make it more shallow. I tried holding down the CTRL or Shift or both and it's not working. Is there anyway to slow down the Water Tool so that when I go to use it, it's slower and I can really shape the pond? Thanks!34Views0likes1Comment11 months after TS2 LC release, still no crash fixes
After countless hours trying every fix I could find online—official forums, YouTube, the second page of Google, Reddit, and everything in between—I’ve finally given up on getting The Sims 2 Legacy Collection (2025) to run properly on my modern PC. It’s simply not worth the effort to chase a fix that shouldn’t even be part of the "gaming" experience. TLDR: The game crashes every 15–30 minutes—even after the 2025 re-release and promised spec upgrades. If you somehow made it work or reduced the crashes to a tolerable level, good for you—but I paid €30 for a game that doesn’t run on a 2024 gaming rig, and that’s frustrating. Long story longer: I’ve spent hours analyzing crash reports and digging through game files. Here’s what I found: Missing sound directories Large parts of the sound files are completely absent—even in the English version. The game keeps trying to load them until the memory (unchanged from the 2004 release!) gives out and crashes—no warnings, no error messages. I managed to fix this by copying the missing sounds from TS2 Ultimate Collection, which for some reason still included all the necessary files, but not the TS2 LC. But that only revealed the bigger issue: Outdated coding & hardware limitations The game still runs almost exactly on the same memory and DirectX specs as 2004. Multiple layers of limitations were patched on top to make it run at all since the 2025 re-release. Even following all the standard “fixes/workarounds”—turning off shadows, running as admin, using Windows 7 compatibility, etc.—doesn’t stop the crashes and the inconvenience. Modern hardware simply isn’t supported properly. (Although this was the reason people were so hyped for this re-release in the first place) I’m sharing this because I love the franchise and want the community to be aware. While trying to fix the game on my own, I came across countless fellow gamers in the same situation—looking for a game that at least runs for more than 30 minutes without crashing and without relying on endless workarounds. My goal isn’t to blame the developers—they were probably forced to release this without the time or resources it truly needed—but the game still needs to work as promised. If anyone has a real fix please share.147Views3likes3CommentsThe sims 2 blurry UI
I am playing on 4K and the game on proper resolution (3840x2160) looks nice but UI looks so blurry and it really stands out. It looks like it isnt scaled properly which was not the problem in sims 2 collection, it looked crisp and nice so please fix this. I have seen other people also reporting this problem and i think it’s a pretty big one that shouldnt be happening. I cant enjoy the game with this UI.217Views2likes6CommentsSims 2 Ultimate Collection missing
Hi everyone! I’ve had The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for years, but after getting a new PC I went to reinstall it and noticed it’s missing from my EA library. It looks like it’s been replaced by The Sims 2 Legacy Edition, which now costs money? Is there any way I can get my Ultimate Collection back or access the Legacy Edition for free? I really don’t want to pay again for something I already owned54Views0likes0CommentsInfinite Loading screen at comunity lots
Hello Everyone ! So recently i decided to give the legacy edition a second chance ! and i tried to play a neighbourhood but the thing is that on any neighbourhood i play on the problem is some comunity lots wont load at all and i get stuck on the loading screen ! Some of these lots for example are the comunity pool in pleasantview and the clothing shop there and the pool in strangetown and some lots in bluewater village that i cant remember the names of ! so after that i tried some fixes google suggested like running the game on adminstrator mode or playing the game on compatability mode but nothing worked ! i am playing on a clean version of the neighbourhoods and i just installed the game and i havent done anything to cause curruption in my game like messing with game files or deleting sims so i dont think curruption is the problem ! Do any of you guys have the same problems ? and are there any fixes ?Solved167Views0likes7Comments
