Personality Points Glitchy?
So I'm just now getting back into playing The Sims 2 and I've been playing the Legacy iteration of the game instead of Ultimate Collection due to it being better optimized. I have noticed some differences between Ultimate Collection and Legacy and don't know if these are known problems, fixable or just how it is now. One thing I noticed is the Personality Points being passed down from parent to child aren't lining up like they used it. You used to be able to see a child's Personality Points and trace them back to exactly which parent they got it from. For example if a child is very outgoing one of the parents must also be very outgoing as well and that's how the child inherited the Points. (sorry if I'm not explaining this well) With that said I started a new family to which they had a baby girl. When she aged to a child I looked at her Personality Points and all but one aren't aligning with the parents. She has 1 point grouchy when neither parent is grouchy...they are both nice. The same goes for her other Personality Points. None align with her parents. Child's Personality Points (the only thing that aligns is the Outgoing she inherited from her dad. Nothing else matches either parent) Dad's Personality Points Mom's Personality Points This doesn't seem like how it used to be. Is this a Legacy thing? Another thing I noticed is the first born baby glitch is fixed in Legacy without needing additional mods or fixes. Could that be contributing to this?72Views0likes1CommentGame stops Responding at Loading Menu?
Hi there! I have never had an issue with this game on my PC until now. I accepted a notification from Steam the other day to allow it to adjust the game or something of that nature. And now when I boot up the game, the loading menu will just stop responding every time. How do I correct this? Or have there been issues going on for a couple of months? I ask because I've taken a break to play Paralives recently. Thank you!29Views0likes0CommentsSims 2 Legacy crash with no error code
The game randomly crashes with no warning and no error code associated with it. There is no lagging before the crash it just closes itself. This will happen within minutes or opening the game, after 20-30 minutes, or after 1-2 hours. It gets worse if I try to open the game again after it crashes. This is what I have tried to fix it but nothing has worked: No mods or CC installed Disabled “Optimizations for windowed games” Turned shadows off Regenerated Sims 2 user folder Forced NVIDIA GPU usage in Windows graphics settings Added Windows Defender exclusions Tested administrator mode Applied 4GB Patch to Sims2EP9.exe Installed DXVK (d3d9.dll, dxgi.dll) Switched from NVIDIA Game Ready Driver → Studio Driver Closed ASUS/Armoury Crate background services Switched ASUS GPU mode from Hybrid/Standard → Ultimate (dGPU only) Deleted Sims 2 cache/thumbnails files Added Sims 2 profile in NVIDIA Control Panel Capped FPS to 58 Set Power Management Mode → Prefer Maximum Performance Enabled VSync Repaired the game through EA App removed Sims 2 folder and created a new one This has been happening for months. I did not have this issue when it first came out, but after the last 2 updates this started happening.359Views3likes6CommentsPropose>Move in Glitching
I started my playable sim out in college to which she graduated. After college she begun a romantic relationship with one of her fellow college classmates. She invites him over to the lot and proposes to move in to which he ages into an adult and becomes apart of the family, but the action never fully completes as I cannot save the game and if I make them go to downtown it glitches where they both leave the lot and the lot continues to run instead of loading the community lot. Is this a known glitch? Do I need a mod?25Views0likes0CommentsSims 2 Legacy resolution scaling off
Hi all, I have had issues with the game's resolution being incorrect and being unable to get my in-game resolution settings to stick once the game was restarted, but with today's patch the resolution is still off (game is sized wrong and is cut off to the right side of the screen), and additionally the resolution options are grayed out in the settings. I have repaired and reinstalled my game, but this did not fix the issue, any ideas what it could be? Screenshots attached and PC Specs. I have been playing my legagcy game without issue since october. Then suddenly yesterday, it randomly crashed with no error message. Yesterday, it was during game play. Today, it is whenever i try to go into any household. I can load to neighbourhood but not beyond. I do not have any new mods. I think my computer may have done some random update that I didn't approve. I am assuming it is due to this but I have no idea how to fix it. I tried chaptgpt but it has been beyond useless. Anyone have any ideas?4.8KViews27likes100CommentsNeighborhoods missing , no save folder created the sims 2 legacy
Hello, When a launch the game, all the neighborhoods are completely missing and the game is empty. I already checked my Documents folder the game doesn't create any save folder at all. I have already tried to reinstall the game, run it as an administrator, and use the repair option in the EA app, but nothing works. No folder is being created on this computer. Could you please help me fix this ? Thanks123Views0likes3CommentsPlease fix the "Object Limit"
Hello, An amazing coder named Will Nixon has been digging into a bug in The Sims 2 called the "Object Limit" and has figured out how it could be fixed. The game has a signed 16-bit integer cap on the amount of OBJDs it can process at any one point in time. Please see his post here for a detailed explanation on what it is, and how it could be fixed: https://www.tumblr.com/spockthewok/816320926857740288/object-limit-2-electric-boogaloo?source=share He states that it is fixable with access to source code, which obviously, we don't have. Please remove this cap, as the amount of Custom Content available for The Sims 2 these days FAR exceeds the bounds of this limit. Sincerely, TeaAddict, BellaDovah, and many other members of the Sims 2 community. (P.S. he also ACTUALLY FIXED pink soup. You might wanna check out his work)1.6KViews53likes30Comments
