When a sim is being abducted and triggers the cutscene, the sim resets a few seconds into the cutscene and the cutscene loses all audio while it continues to play out. The end result being the sim does not get abducted.
I did some testing and this still happens with cinematic camera disabled. The sim will reset (or throw an error if testing cheats is enabled) before the abduction interaction can complete.
The same thing happens to me! I went to play with the Curious family and the same thing happens during the scripted event where Vidcund goes to stargaze, even with a clean neighborhood template. The cutscene of the other brother giving birth is also glitched, with the sim clipping through his plumbob, and cuddling the air while the baby is on the ground.
