Unfortunately I no longer have that old version folder...😢 Not sure how to do the command prompt!

Well, you don't want that old folder for it to work. Username will differ based on yours, but press Windows key+R, enter cmd and press Enter, then in Command Prompt use MKLINK /J "C:\Users\Username\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\" "C:\Users\Username\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy\".
This will create something like a shortcut named The Sims 2 that points to the The Sims 2 Legacy folder.
