Sims 2 Legacy : 'Application has crashed, application will now terminate.'

Yep. I’m getting the same. Not happy 😒

Same thing is happening to me-- was working fine yesterday and now the game will boot up no issues until i load into a family then i will get the crashed message 

i have the same issue..

I can create a family and then I can play with them for maybe 30 mins max and then I also get the: The application has crashed. The application will now terminate.

It’s so frustrating! I really wanted to play the sims 2.. The sims 1 doesn’t even start on my pc. I hope they fix it soon.

Mine crashed and killed my sim leaving secret lot on vacation.  I got big foot and he was there in neighbourhood house upon returning but my original sim died at camping ground. I had to end task to actually leave the game. It crashed in create a sim as well saying "error and terminate". My sim did save though. I tried deleting the savr files and game all together and reloading it but still having issues. Really disappointing EA. 

I do  as well and on top of that my game is full of bugs and unplayable in certain ways :(

So small temporary fix that works for me and I hope it helps some of you:

So you will need to put a -w at the end of the file. Right click The Sims 2 desktop icon and click on Properties. After the quotation mark put a space then type -w after and apply. You may need to delete and type in again to apply. I had to do it at least three times to get my game to work. 

After I was able to get in I played with the Graphics/Performance Options of the game. I put the screen size to 1680x1050 and the game has been working for me. I was able to create a family without it crashing so far.  I've been able to change all of the settings to high and so far it's been playable.   I hope EA will fix the files so we don't have to go through this rigamarole. But I hope it helps.

Same. Once while going into edit a beach lot and in CAS. 

For me its when i'm in build/buy. I can open the game fine then it will crash all of a sudden
