Sims 2 legacy crashing on CAS

I’ve read a few discussions that say to change the compatibility and I did but as soon as I try to create a sim, game crashes ‘the application has crashed. The application will now terminate’. I’m having annoying bugs with Sims 1 but this is ridiculous. Why release a game that’s not even playable? SOS send help

    Simmers ! I’ve found the solution thanks to msblackwidow01.l

     So don’t load a family, instead place one of the ready made houses onto the map and enter build mode.  It should load all the way.  Once you’re in, go to settings and turn off the shadow option! Save and then go back to the menu and try loading a household! It worked for me and I’m playing with no issues

    I'm playing through ea app and have it all updated and have clicked repair, how do I know if I have the latest patch? Also tried windowed mode and didn't work unfortunately

    All updated (I have auto updates on ). Making it windowed didn’t help either. I’ve been playing these games since they came out and it’s a tease to open the game and not be able to CAS

    Sblythe1112 I will attempt to replicate this once my game starts acting up and crashing; can you confirm that this can be reproduced if the game crashes again?

    Once I had done this it stopped crashing in CAS. The game does still randomly crash, but I haven’t tried to CAS again. It works as well as can be expected for something they clearly rushed.
