Sims 2 Legacy Food Glitch + writing novel glitch

I keep encountering a glitch with my sims 2 character where any meal that they start to cook disappears when they try to take the food out of the oven. The oven will stay open and their food disappears from their hands and the sim resets. My sim is starving to death because it is impossible for them to eat! I tried replacing the fridge and oven and the glitch still happens.

Also I have noticed another glitch when they try to write a novel on their PC, when they start the task of writing the game lags and then the sim resets and gets up from the computer. This happens every time they try to write a novel even if I sell the computer and buy a new one.
