Despop919 Just to double-check, you're getting a message that says Failed to find DirectX 9 compatible graphics adapters?
Normally, that message would pop up when launching the game in fullscreen (not possible anymore) for the first time or when the Graphics Rules file was corrupted; it rarely indicated an actual DirectX 9 issue.
What are the steps from EA that you are referring to? You can find your installation location by clicking on the three dots on The Sims 2 + The Sims 2 Packs icon in the EA App and selecting View Properties > Open Folder.
If you'd like, I can take a look at your DxDiag and see if it reports anything worth troubleshooting, just attach it to this thread.

Yes, it pops up every time I try to launch it full screen mode. My pathway to my files is different from the others. It says I don't have the legacy edition. I actually have the free sims 2 double deluxe that they were giving out a long time ago.
