Starving Dog Won't Eat

I played Sims 2 for awhile today and adopted Lulu, the black Lab. She's finicky, so I bought the most expensive food dish (which I always do anyway). It was, of course, the first time using it, so it didn't need to be cleaned. I thought she would use it, but she didn't. She just kept getting hungrier and hungrier, asking my Sims for treats. Sooo, I looked online for help and they told me to buy the most expensive food bowl and make sure it was cleaned. Check! I kept looking. They said to praise the dog for eating human food and scold it for eating Sim food, but whenever Lulu eats, it's not a reinforceable behavior - she cannot be praised, or scolded. After some more digging around one person advises to make the dog controllable, and make it eat pet food. But, I couldn't even click the food bowl. I gave it one last shot and tried to Call To Eat...Lulu, but the interaction faded from her queue. There seems to be no fix for this dog; I tried resetting her, I tried resetting the food bowl, nothing; so I guess I'll just put her up for adoption, unless there's something else I can try. All answers appreciated.

  • Not that I know... I remember having the problem with a dog once. I don't remember how I fixed it or if I got it fix. :(
  • I've tried a bit with the Batbox today. I couldn't really find a solution though. Thanks for the suggestion @Rflong7 :)

(Edit: Veronaville premade Kent Capp has the plate issue. Does he also have the same issue in other people's games?)
  • Is this pet from the bin? Those strays are trained to eat people food, and have to be trained to eat pet food. I guess you would have said so, if it were the strays in the bin. Just a thought, maybe give that one up for adoption and get another one.

Not me and neither @KimRS is talking about them; Kim mentioned she adopted a lab named Lulu and I referred to a dog I created in CAS myself.
I even jumped into my game to put Danny and Sarah Crittur into a household - despite both of them being trained to eat Sim food, they both do have the action to eat from a pet bowl available when you click on a filled one (using the pet control cheat).
The issue both Kim and I are referring to is: our pets don't have any interaction available at all when clicking on a pet bowl using the cheat, even though all circumstances mean they should have the action available.
  • Well, let me ask some more silly questions, do you have any pet custom skins in your game? Or custom plates? It sounds like the Capp lot is corupted by something. And one more have you reset the dog? Force Error/Reset

Neither custom pet skins, nor plates. I certainly hope they're not, though iirc he already had the issue after moving in. I believe he had the same issue in a Veronaville let's play I've seen on YT...

I haven't reset the dog yet though, that family's in the middle of a honeymoon.
