Teleporting with Modular Stairs

vinnylately I have not been able to replicate this issue in my game, but I've seen other reports of it. Let me know if it happens on every lot or just one in particular.

You may also package the lot into a file, add it to a ZIP file and attach it to your reply here so I can check it out.

I'm having this issue as well. Sometimes modular stairs cannot be deleted - this is actually an issue that has occurred since the game's release back in 2004. It's a massive pain but I don't know whether it's afflicting specific lots or just occurs randonly in the game whatever lot you're in.

I think the teleporting thing is brand new and has only happened to me when there's more than one set of the same stairs - however, I have not tested whether different sets of stairs prevent the teleporting - I say this because it makes me wonder if the game is handling multiple sets of the same stairs as being a single set of stairs.

Okay, I've gone back into the game and tested the stairs not deleting in a few dorms in the university neighbourhood, including a few pre-made dorms and an empty lot - this issue appears in all circumstances so far and happened to me previously in Pleasantville (I haven't played any other neighbourhoods).  So it appears to be a global issue in the game, in as much as it's not confined to a single neighbourhood or specific lots.

I have had stair issues since the first update. My sims can not go upstairs, and end up going outside, and up the porch steps OR they cant even go up the porch steps and just stand there waving telling me they cant go anywhere. Now, when I build a house, I continue to test the steps before continuing to build. I have now gotten thru 2 FULL house builds and realized my sims wont go anywhere. I wish I knew the issue.

I was able to replicate the teleporting issue on an affected lot uploaded by another player (it also had the issue where the stairs could not be deleted). After I replaced the stairs with the latest patch installed (by forcing an error on them and placing brand new ones), they could use them without teleporting.

I recommend checking for the teleporting issue on brand new lots; the patch will probably not be able to retroactively fix some issues.
