The Sims 1 and 2 are still 32 bit

To the developer team from @EA that worked on The Sims Legacy Collections

Thank you so much for rereleasing these games and for sending us back to where it all started.

But please, we beg of you as a community and we ask of you to give the games + the sims 3 a 64-bit version for Windows. It s kind of false advertisment to say that the games can now use all of the system s ram when a 32-bit app (like The Sims 2) can only use 4gb of memory.

You have all tools in the world to do this as Aspyr Media did it for MacOS.

If there is one fix i d want it would be to update the games to 64 bit and i would be happy.

With all due respect

Your community.

  • they never stated its 64 bit. what they likely did was apply the 4gb ram patch

Yes they never said it s 64 bit but they DID say it can use all of your system s ram fully. Which is not true since it s still 32 bit and 32 bit apps can only use 4gb of ram. They should ve done it 64 bit since the start

But who knows i am still dreaming for a potential 64 bit update

  • THIS. this is what'll fix all of the issues regarding pink soup, crashing with heavy CC, etc. notice how mac players almost never have any complaints about stability? the game being 32-bit probably causes most of the big issues with ts2. i don't know why i don't see more people petitioning for a 64-bit update, especially now that we have support for the older games again.
