I wanted to plays sims 2. I have the original CD case with code. I tried putting it in and a totally different game popped up. So I contacted EA via chat. Told them my story, sent them the code. They said that it does match with the sims 2 but the game is so old that I basically cannot download it. So annoying. Anyone know a way to get Sims 2? I don't know why they dont have it available. I would even pay for it.
@Jlbock27 , are you trying to use the code to install the game via Origin? If so, Origin does not officially support the Sims 2 unless you already obtained a digital version of Sims 2 Ultimate Collection prior to October 2018. EA stopped the giveaway last year.
The only way to install and play the game currently is to play with an external disk drive and the disks.
Now that The Sims 2 has been re-released and is now again supported by EA (Origin is obsolete), I tried my CD code again and I am still having the same problem. The code is valid but pulls up a different game. Since laptops don't have cd drives anymore, I was really hoping the re-release would have allowed the old codes to work.
Does anyone know how to play the game without buying it again since we already own it?
RandDoUrden EA has made no announcements about allowing disk copies to redeem the new version. If you wish, you can still play the game using disks and an external drive, but you will need to apply some compatibility fixes.
