The Sims 2 is still poorly optimized

Even after the third update patch, The Sims 2 Legacy Collection is still poorly optimized and doesn’t detect dedicated GPUs. I have a GTX 1650 with 4GB of VRAM and 16GB of RAM, yet the game lags in community lots and even on my own lot. It only detects the integrated graphics. I really hope this issue gets fixed.

If anyone else is experiencing the same issue, please comment so EA Games can be aware of the problem and fix it as soon as possible.

  • I agree that EA should look into this and rectify it, but in the meantime you can use workarounds.

From the Windows / Start Icon, type "Graphics Settings" and Click the results from System Settings.
        Click Desktop App.
Browse your application. If your application is not on the list, you will need to browse for the folder where the .exe file is located.
        Click on the application name/icon.
        Click Options.
Set the application to your preferred GPU.
        Click save.

  • I have RTX 3090 and game runs poor... from 165 tanks to 50 fps. specially on speed 3

I hope dev's are going to check sims 2 CPU handeling, to use more cpu core's and not single
