From my perspective, the big reason not to play it would be if you like to spend a lot of time on community lots. In Sims2, every hour you spend on a community lot you have to replay when they get home, but with their needs set at where they were when you left a lot. So if they stay out from 5-11 pm and end up really tired, they'll be really tired at 5 pm when they get home. But if your gameplay will mostly involve staying at home, I enjoyed the game like that for 10 years so I don't see why you wouldn't. I just really like traveling now in Sims 4 so I haven't ever been tempted to go back.
