Why do the kids keep glitching out?

Playing another family and the game crashes yet again after my toddler ages up to a child. My latest save was went they were still a toddler. So before I loaded the family up again, I noticed the child is being held by their mother, like a toddler. I load the dang family up and the kid is now morphed into a toddler with a child's head. Is there anything I can do to avoid the kids to glitching out or am I cursed?
