sims 2 wont launch or show anything

I have been trying to launch the sims 2 since it came out again, and was only able to launch it once. Every other time i try to launch it the icon for sims 2 shows up in the task bar but doesnt actually open. Ive tried all the "fixes" only but none of them have worked
