Buccaneer Bay community lots (part 3)
High & Dry Laundromat 16x14
This is where residents go to wash away their sins – or at least last week's rum stains. The machines are ancient, the dryers only work when they feel like it, and the folding tables have seen more drama than most marriages. Locals bring in their dirty laundry, hoping a few coins and some questionable detergent will make everything fresh again. Come with dirty clothes. Leave with clean clothes and fresh gossip. Just don't be surprised if your favorite shirt disappears – everything eventually walks away in this town. Welcome to the only place on island where things actually get cleaned... occasionally.
Dice & Despair 20x21
A dimly lit sanctuary where socially awkward locals come to escape reality. Here you can browse overpriced collectibles, flip through dusty comic books, challenge your friends to ancient arcade machines, or just sit in the corner and roll dice while avoiding eye contact. The walls are lined with ridiculously expensive figurines that most customers can only dream of owning, while the staff quietly judges your taste in graphic novels. It's the perfect place for those who prefer fictional worlds over the chaotic mess outside. Come for the nostalgia. Stay because touching grass is overrated anyway.
Tired Teacup 25x25
Charmingly worn-down old mill turned into a public self-service haven. Here visitors can wander the gardens and freely pick fresh herbs and vegetables, preserve their haul at the old canning station inside, and then enjoy a truly impressive selection of teas served in beautiful (if slightly chipped) teacups. No staff, no rules, just the gentle sound of the old mill wheel and the quiet hope that someone else will clean up after them.
Wobbly Saddle Arena 30x50
Public riding facility, where dreams of graceful horsemanship go to stumble. The fences are slightly crooked, the saddles have seen better decades, and the horses know exactly which riders have no idea what they're doing. Beginners, tourists and optimistic locals come here to ”connect with nature” and leave with sore backsides and newfound respect for gravity. It's not the most elegant place to ride, but it's honest – and occasionally hilarious. Welcome to the arena where balance is optional and dignity is definitely not guaranteed.
Leftover Latte 20x21
Leftover Latte is the kind of café where yesterday's pastries meet today's mild existential crisis. The coffee is strong enough to wake the dead, the sandwiches are usually ”inspired by” whatever didn't sell the day before, and the Wi-Fi is surprisingly reliable for a place that feels permanently stuck in yesterday. Locals come here to linger over lukewarm lattes, scroll their phones, and pretend they have their lives together. It's not fancy. It's not even particularly good. But it's open, it's familiar, and sometimes that's enough.
The Starving Artist Gallery 28x14
This is where creative souls gather to display their work and slowly realize their limitations. The gound floor serves as a gallery for local paintings, sculptures and other artistic attempts, while the upstairs rooms offer workshops for glassblowing, carving, painting and similar hands-on hobbies. Here hopeful artists and enthusiastic hobbyist spend their days trying to create something meaningful – often with mixed results. It's a place full of half-finished projects, fragile egos, and the quiet understanding that talent and passion don't always meet. Still, the dream of becoming a real artist refuses to die here, no matter how many ugly vases end up in the corner.
Soggy Sultan 25x20
Legend tells that the fearsome pirate Saltbeard once visited a hammam during his travels and became utterly enchanted by it. He was so obsessed that he built his own on the island – the only place where brutal ”Iron Fist” Saltbeard reportedly became almost gentle and bearable. Today the Soggy Sultan continues that proud (and damp) tradition. The steam is thick, the tiles are ancient, and the atmosphere somehow still carries faint echoes of a bloodthirsty pirate finally relaxing. It remains the one spot in Buccaneer Bay where even the grumpiest locals tend to leave a little softer – at least until the steam wears off.
Breath & Breakdown Park 25x20
This park is a tranquil escape where people come to find inner peace through yoga or ancient martial arts – at least in theory. Tucked away from the crowds with picturesque frog pond, the park offers the perfect setting for meditation and mindful movement. That is, until some overambitious yogi attempts to levitate and belly-flops into the pond with a scream that ruins the zen for everyone within a fifty-meter radius. It's the ideal place for those chasing enlightenment... and those who just enjoy watching others fail spectacularly in expensive activewear. In Buccaneer Bay, even inner peace comes with a splash.
Rum & Ruin Roulette 20x20
Rum & Ruin Roulette is Buccaneer Bay's only casino – a gloriously shady establishment where fortunes vanish and bad decisions flourish. The rooms are filled with the clinking of chips, the smell of cheap cologne, and the constant murmur of people convincing themselves that this time luck will be on their side. Here visitors try their luck at roulette, blackjack, and slot machines that haven't paid out properly since 1995. The house always wins, but the rum keeps flowing, so nobody seems to mind too much. It's the perfect place to lose your savings, your dignity, and possibly your wedding ring in one unforgettable evening. Here the only thing guaranteed is a good story and an empty pocket the next morning.
Last Lookout Observatory 25x25
The observatory was originally built for stargazing, but the island's frequent cloud cover quickly turned it into something far more ambitious. Today the facility serves as a general science hub where local researchers, ranging from chemists to botanists, crowd around outdated equipment trying to solve the world's great mysteries. Some are genuinely brilliant. Others are just untalented amateurs with too much time and not enough funding. The view of the stars is almost nonexistent, but the dreams of groundbreaking discoveries remain stubbornly alive.
Riptide Residence 64x64
Weathered beachfront hotel where the ocean view is spectacular and the service is... optional. The buildings have that charmingly worn look that comes from years of salt air and occasional storm damage. Rooms offer beautiful sea views, creaky floors, and the constant sound of waves reminding guests that nature is always one bad storm away from reclaiming the place. It's popular with those who want the romance of staying by the sea – without expecting too much actual comfort or reliability. Welcome to Riptide Residence, where the tides are strong, the Wi-Fi is weak, and every stay comes with a gentle reminder that nothing on this island is permanent.
Chaos & Carnival Park 44x44
Official event venue, where the town pretends to have wholesome community spirit. The park hosts rotating seasonal events: an overly competitive egg hunt in spring, a chaotic pumpkin festival in autumn, a sweaty summer carnival, and a questionable ice skating rink in winter that usually turns into more of a slipping hazard than winter wonderland. Whether it's a sticky cotton candy, drunken pumpkin carving, or families arguing over egg-hunting territory, on thing is certain – something always goes wrong in the most entertaining way possible. Welcome to the place where ”family fun” and mild chaos go hand in hand. Just don't expect it to run smoothly. Ever.
