I am still struggling with this forum.
I've begun working on another new video. In the next video I decided to take advantage of the trails in Appaloosa Plains. When Don returned from Vice City I got him to purchase a new vacant lot. There had been a house on it but I bulldozed it before he purchased it. I then built a barn with stables for 2 horses. I already have 2 horses that I made several years ago so I tracked them down and added them to the game.
In previous episodes I've had Denise and others read riding skill books. I don't usually get my sims to learn that sill but some of them have read so many skill books I was running out of things to get them to do. I decided it might be fun to have her and others ride around the world.
I built the barn and then that night, when I should have been sleeping, I thought I should have use that to learn how to do a live stream. This thought led on to my concern about having so many other stories waiting for new episodes. One of my major struggles with making videos is my microphone. While editing and doing the voice over for the most recent episode of The Perfect Genetics Challenge I spent days redoing voice overs because every so often the voice gets very muffled and I can't work out what's being said, so I redo it, over and over again and it takes extra days. So I need a new mike. Then I was thinking I might get a new mike and continue working on Perfect Genetics until I complete it - we get to generation 10. But with all of the other stories, I will do live streams of the game play.
Yesterday I went out and purchased a new mike. It is one of those little microphones that pins to your shirt. I'm currently charging the batteries with the various bits that came with it. And then I did some research on live streaming. I've been looking at that for a while but I think I've worked it out enough now to have a go. I'm not sure if it'll work as my PC is getting old now - it was new in 2017. I'm using Windows 10 and my OBS software is a few years out of date - but I found problems recording on the versions beyond the version I currently have. I will find out if it works or not when I start streaming. I'll try to let you know when it happens. It will probably be a few days because I have to work out how to use the microphone and see if I can record with it.
Another issue I've had is my fitness, and it's been so hot here. But since the cyclone (hurricane) it's getting a lot cooler. The heat has made life very difficult for me this year. It's probably my age as I seem to keep getting older - we all do I suppose. Anyway, my fitness level was extremely bad due to me spending so much time on the computer. I probably wouldn't have been so hot if I spent more time outdoors too. I was getting to the point where just walking around the house was getting difficult. I got angry. That led to action. I joined a gym and now do 4 workouts most weeks. One of them is with a personal trainer who is focused on strengthening my legs. For the first few weeks I was so exhausted after each workout that all I could do when I got home was lie down and sleep. But I kept it up and now 7 months later I'm finally able to do a workout and then go out and still have lots of energy to do other things. So I'm hopeful my video output will improve. Previously I couldn't stand still for more than a few minutes - I managed to stand for almost an hour last week when I went out to a function. I can walk around shopping centers for over an hour now too. I'm looking forward for even more improvements in my fitness.
I don't know how long it'll take me to get this next video done. Today I think I worked out how to do a live stream. I'm not sure if my internet connection can handle it. I'm not sure if my computer can handle it either. But we won't know that for sure until I try. First I need to get that new microphone working. I'll need it to live stream - but I could still manage with the old mike if I have to use it to do videos.
Happy Simming
