Any ideas on how far way I need to place the time portal from Into the Future?

I sent one of my sims into the future through the time portal.  They were there for a while and I sent them back to the present.  I had my sim deactivate the time portal.  It ended up reactivating, and sims from the future started coming through, and they have not stopped.  The problem is when a sim comes through the screen will shake, and a white flash will take place.  This is making me sick, with headaches and nausea.  I would like to keep the Time Portal in the game, so I was thinking about placing it on another lot somewhere.  Any ideas on how far way I need to place the time portal (from my sim's home lot), so I don't have this happen on my screen?

(I am not sure if this is a Technical or just a normal Discussion.)

  • You can simply put it in your household inventory if you want.

If you want to decrease the distance where you'll get the camera shake, you can do so with Retuner:

    <FullClassName>Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Miscellaneous.TimePortal,Sims3GameplayObjects</FullClassName>
        <FieldName>kCameraShakeDistanceRange</FieldName>
        <Index>0</Index>
        <Value>10</Value>
        <FullClassName>Sims3.Gameplay.Objects.Miscellaneous.TimePortal,Sims3GameplayObjects</FullClassName>
        <FieldName>kCameraShakeDistanceRange</FieldName>
        <Index>1</Index>
        <Value>100</Value>

I don't know exactly how far 100 is, but I would guess anywhere on your home lot is less, and somewhere not right next door is more.

Thank you very much.  I dropped the number from 100 to 50 and moved it to a community lot (cemetery).
