aricarai's little pixel place | SIX NEW Videos | p. 23

Howdy-dee-do! I'm Arica, but you can call me Ari if you like. I'm just a quirky, long time Simmer with a love for tuna casserole, storytelling and grammar-nerding (former editor and review writer here!), a touch of OCD (probably why I'm such a slow builder) and a habit of rambling that needed an architecture and interior design fix, so I turned to pixels and started sharing my creations 5 years ago (though I've been playing since 2000). In my little pixel place, I'll be sharing my builds, renovations, and Sims, which are CC free unless otherwise stated. I recently ventured into YouTube, creating under the name theplumdot (I've got a penchant for plums and dots) so I will also be posting my videos here, too!
I'm also part of the DNA Request Team (link below) and had the pleasure of working as part of the SLM (SIMplified Living Magazine) team!
After 4 years, I finally invested in a new gaming PC, which I dubbed PHINNEY (yes, Gertie is still alive!), so I'm back in the mindset of "new computer = new creative thread." If you would like to check out any of my previous creations, please visit my old thread.
Thank you so much for stopping by my little pixel place and having a gander.
I'm back with something a little different today. MiaSkywalker came up with a cool concept called the Round Robin Build Exchange and although I didn't originally sign up to be involved (because I'm the slowest builder ever), I've been lurking since the beginning. A few weeks ago, lurkers were called upon to unlurk and step up to help out. I volunteered as tribute and had the immense pleasure of being able to build for the lovely ADWilson. The awesome thing about RR Build Exchange is that was a very collaborative process whereby I got feedback and suggestions on my build as I went along, so the it was something that Addy would really enjoy.
Originally, Addy asked for a starter home for two single Sims (§33k) built in Auroa Skies. One main Sim was to be a scientist and the other a nectar maker. Everything was going fabulous well until I completely blew the budget out of the water (surprise, surprise!) and the walk-out basement flooded! I learned that different worlds had different water levels and because of this walk-outs in Aurora Skies are a NO NO! Instead of starting the build over, Addy and I decided to up sticks and move the home to Sunlit Tides. With a different lick of exterior paint (bright red doesn't really suit Sunlit Tides), the home now perfectly suits the surroundings and the Sims.
Features: - 2 bedrooms - 2 bathrooms - Laboratory - Nectar Cellar - Bar/Tasting Area - Garden - BBQ Gazebo - Hot tub - Bonfire
Price: §128, 199 (Oopsy Addy, sorry!)
Built on 60 Paradise Circle in Sunlit Tides, The Aruba Square boasts tranquil views surrounded by serene tropical nature. Purpose built for a scientist (mad or eccentric - you decide) and nectar maker, the laboratory and nectar areas are the focus of this home. Each Sims' area has its own level - the laboratory taking up the upper level, along with an office and the nectar areas along with access to the garden taking up two basement levels. Without triangles or Bermuda in sight, The Aruba Square is an oasis boasting stunning views of the island, giving the feeling of serenity and tranquillity.
Excessive amounts of exterior shots because I luuuuuuuuurve them

Thank you so much @rosemow! I really appreciate the time you take to comment on every little detail. Nothing escapes your eyes! <3
Apologies for taking so long to respond, but I had trouble uploading to the Exchange. All fixed now! Thank you very much
I was trawling through tumblr the other day and I discovered...properly...BERRY SIMS! i-heart-pudding (as well as others) was asking for berry sim spouses for the Megalos Bachelorette Challenge so I thought I'd throw my ring in the hat and create one!
The only rules were that the Sim needed to be a two-color berry Sim - choosing either yellow or a slate blue color provided plus another color of my choosing. CC was allowed, so I admit, I went on a bit of a downloading spree (my God, there are some amazing creators out there!).
Prim Rose is a private download until the challenge is over, but I'll be back with a link should anyone want her trouncing around in their game.
At school, Prim Rose was known as the shy bookworm. She could usually be found in the library with her nose in a steamy romance novel or scribbling in her journal, hoping that she could be penning the next bestseller.
Though quiet by nature, Prim longs for a partner to fall hopelessly in love with; blame her books or call her childish if you wish, but Prim believes in fairy tales. She may not be a social butterfly and she may need to be coaxed out of her shell with some good humour and multiple friendly interactions, but Prim is loyal and kindhearted.
If Prim could achieve her dream of becoming a Professional Author while having the love and support of a doting partner (or maybe a cat), all her wants and needs would be fulfilled.
Can she find this all encompassing love and achieve her dream in the Megalos Bachelorette Challenge?
Prim Rose is a very nice berry sim! :) The colours that you have used for her look very nice! Very nice outfits and hair styles for each of the outfit categories. Her yellow eyes are very nice! I hope that she goes well in the challenge!

Thank you @rosemow! Lovely of you to stop by and comment on Prim! <3
Caeruleus Moss is a private download, but I will likely release him at some point!
Caeruleus Moss | latin version of Cerulean | Monster Maker | Twill Aficionado
Although Caeruleus was born in the 20th century, when his parents looked into his eyes, they could tell that he was an old soul. Growing up, he was always told that he was wise beyond his years; in the ways he thought, acted, and dressed.
Caeruleus is a proper gentleman with a penchant for bow ties and manners. There’s only two things he wants in life; a family and his monsters to be a part of that family!
Caereleus Moss looks a very stylishly nice Berry sim! :) The green colour scheme of his clothing and his hair looks very nice! The photos that you have taken of him look great! It looks great the poses and his facial expressions ! Very nice clothing outfits that you have designed for him to wear. He looks and sounds like a very nice sim :)
Those two berry Sims are absolutely adorable. Exactly what CC did you use on them?
I think I would like to place them in DV (that whole town teems of berries), but I would use Cleaner to remove the CC. Just wondering how much of a difference removing that CC will make.

Hi @MiaSkywalker - aww thank you! I'm glad you think so.
There's a lot of CC on both of them tbh - skin overlays, blushes, ear blushes, nosemasks etc. Each post will take you to my simblr and you'll see exactly what it is. There would probably be less of a difference removing the CC from Caeruleus as he doesn't use sliders like Prim does and any make up he's wearing can be replaced.
I could always pull out my mods folder and take some pictures for you if you like.
